Socorro New Mexico, April 24th, 1964: Police officer Lonnie Zamora breaks away from a hot pursuit to investigate a loud sound and a bright flash low in the sky. After turning onto a desolate dirt road the police officer sees an egg shaped object on the ground with two, “small people” in white coveralls standing next to it. As the officer continued driving closer one of the figures noticed him and appeared startled.

By the time the officer got out of his car to continue on foot the figures were gone. The object then lifted off the ground with a loud roar. Once about 20 feet in the air and about 50 feet away from the officer the object became completely silent and sped up into the sky until it disappeared. Official records from the USAF reveals evidence substantiating the police officers testimony. Evidence in the form of vitrified sand and scorched vegetation from the propulsion, compressed soil from the landing gear and footprints from the beings - efforts by the government to give this encounter a terrestrial explanation failed. This case remains one of the best Close Encounters of the Third Kind in U.S. history.
